Food to try in Bahamas

Conch salad

Raw conch diced with onion, tomato, sweet pepper and hot pepper, then soaked in lime and sour orange juice. Stands often make it fresh while you watch, especially at the fish fry spots in Nassau.

Cracked conch

Conch meat is pounded thin, battered and fried until crisp. It is a common lunch or dinner plate across the islands, usually served with fries or peas 'n' rice.

Peas 'n' rice
