Transportation

Noord offers multiple public transportation options, including bus, tram, ferry, and metro services. The local bus operator, GVB, operates numerous bus lines in the neighborhood, while the tram lines 5 and 6 both serve Noord. In addition, the ferry service of EBS connects Noord with Amsterdam City Center, while the metro lines 51 and 53 serve the area.

Noord is a relatively small area in Amsterdam and can easily be explored in half a day. However, if you want an in-depth look at the area, then it's recommended to spend a full day in Noord. Spend time strolling the waterfront, visiting the NDSM Wharf, exploring EYE Film Institute and Foodhallen, taking a boat ride on IJ, snapping photos of A'DAM Tower, and eating your way through the area's vibrant eateries.

The best time to visit Noord is between April and September when the weather is warm and pleasant. During these months, days are long, the air is balmy, and the streets are full of outdoor restaurants and bars. During the summer months, one can enjoy the city’s many outdoor festivals, street markets, and open-air performances.
